Lieutenant (J.G. - junior grade) David Corwin is a technician in Command and Control, or the Observation Dome, on Babylon 5. Early in 2260, he received a promotion to full lieutenant (roughly equivalent to captain in the army) - previously, he had been a junior grade/2nd lieutenant.
jms has said that Corwin would receive his next promotion sometime around 2262. Darn - we won't get to see it :-(
Corwin's roles in C&C are to monitor the jumpgate, monitor transmissions (somewhat like Lt. Uhura in the original Star Trek) and also to monitor local space around B5. Most of the time, it's pretty boring, but sometimes things hot up. Sometimes things hot up a little too much, as they did in Severed Dreams.
